How to Sync GL Account for Ramp to Sage 100

Syncing GL Accounts to Ramp with AnyWare Apps Integration

Managing your accounting systems can be a lot simpler when your tools communicate seamlessly. Today, we’re walking through how to create a General Ledger (GL) account in Sage 100 and see it automatically sync over to RAMP using the Anyware Apps connector.

Step 1: Create a Sub-Account in Sage 100

First, open Sage 100 and navigate to Sub Account Maintenance within the General Ledger module. Here’s what to do:

  1. Enter your Sub Account Number and Department.
  2. Add a Description and a Short Description to clearly identify the account.
  3. Click Accept.

Once complete, Sage 100 will confirm that your sub-account was created successfully.

Step 2: Add a New GL Account

Next, navigate to Account Maintenance in General Ledger.

  1. Look up the account you want to add to.
  2. Using the department or sub-account you created, create your new GL account.
  3. Enter the account details, such as type (e.g., Utilities) and description.

You can double-check by searching for the number you just entered — your new GL account should appear with the proper name and code.

Step 3: Sync the Account to RAMP

With the GL account created, it’s time to sync it to RAMP.

  • Click Sync to RAMP in Sage 100.
  • The Anyware Apps integration automatically keeps your GL accounts synchronized on a scheduled basis.
  • If you need an immediate update, there’s also a manual sync option.

Step 4: Verify in RAMP

Now, let’s check that the sync worked:

  1. In RAMP, navigate to Company → People → Groups.
  2. Search for the group or account — in our example, Test for GA has synced directly from Sage 100.

Next, verify the account in Accounting → Credit Card Transactions:

  1. Select a transaction.
  2. Open the Accounting Category field.
  3. Look up the GL account you just created — you’ll see it available for use (TSTGA in our example).

Why This Matters

By connecting Sage 100 to RAMP through Anyware Apps:

  • You save time by eliminating manual data entry.
  • You ensure accuracy across systems.
  • You can focus on reviewing and approving transactions instead of duplicating work.

With this setup, your accounting teams can work more efficiently, with confidence that new GL accounts and updates are always synced between Sage 100 and RAMP.

Organizations are always looking for ways to control spending and improve financial visibility, but one area that often receives less attention is how expense management systems affect tax reporting. Platforms like Ramp have gained traction because they help finance teams track expenses, enforce policies, and maintain clear documentation. When paired with the right accounting integration, those capabilities can also support stronger tax reporting processes. Ramp’s approach to spend management provides organizations with better control over corporate card usage, vendor payments, and expense documentation. Every transaction captured in the platform includes detailed metadata such as receipts, merchant information, and categorization. These details can play an important role during tax preparation and financial audits, particularly when organizations need to verify deductible expenses or provide supporting documentation. However, the real operational value appears when this expense data flows directly into the accounting system where financial reporting and tax preparation ultimately take place.

At AnyWare Apps, we specialize in building seamless integrations that eliminate operational friction and give organizations complete confidence in their financial systems. When this nonprofit came to us, they were struggling with delayed credit card transaction data, third-party processing bottlenecks, and limited visibility into real-time spend. Their finance team was often one to two weeks behind, making proactive decision-making difficult. By developing a reliable, automated integration between Ramp and Sage Intacct, we helped consolidate their spend management into a single, streamlined ecosystem. Transactions now flow accurately and on time in the background, providing immediate visibility, stronger controls, and peace of mind. The result is more than just a technical integration—it’s a trusted financial infrastructure that leadership and staff alike recognize as a major organizational win. For mission-driven organizations especially, having systems that simply work is essential. That’s where AnyWare Apps comes in.
